De Beweging
De Beweging (translation: the Movement) for large orchestra was created by Oscar van Dillen in 2001, and nominated for the Young Composer's Prize.
The instrumentation is a full symphony orchestra, contrasting polyphony and rhythm.
The composition can be considered to be a tribute to all peaceful movements fighting for an open society that truly respects human rights and cultural differences.

van stil naar luid (met respect voor grenzen);
Daaruit is dB ontstaan.

Original program notes (translated)
Concise text to the Movement
I wanted to write a composition, which has within one part the movement from dark to light (retaining dawn),
from still to moving (retaining hesitation),
from slow to fast (retaining rest),
from low to high (retaining horizon),
from silent to loud (respecting limits);
in short, quasi the form of an Indian Raga.
From this dB has sprung.
